For this gathering, we brought together scholars, activists, artists, and community groups working in and across URBAN Research Network nodes to grapple with issues of social justice, surface and unpack current modes of survivance and resistance, and work towards new critical solidarities in the face of multi-scalar powers— tying the local to the national to the global, unpacking the macro logics that unleash structural and physical violence upon individuals and communities on the ground, and reflecting on the practices and campaigns that the grassroots might mount (and are mounting) in response.
